JawaPos.com – Ajang pemberian penghargaan Golden Globes ke-80 berhasil digelar di The Beverly Hilton, California, Selasa (10/1) malam waktu setempat. Sejumlah aktor dan aktris berhasil membawa pulang piala penghargaan.
Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Angela Bassett, Ke Huy Quan, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Coolidge, Steven Spielberg, Michelle Yeoh, Julia Garner, Zendaya, Guillermo del Toro, Cate Blanchett, dan Austin Butler merupakan beberapa nama yang berhasil membawa pulang piala penghargaan Golden GLobe 2023.
Penghargaan kategori Best Motion Pictures dimenangkan oleh The Fabelmans. Ia mengalahkan sejumlah pesaingnya yaitu film Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, Tár dan Top Gun: Maverick.
Kendati film Avatar: The Way of Water terbilang sukses besar di banyak negara, nyatanya tidak mampu membuat sang sutradara, James Cameron, memenangkan penghargaan Golden Globes kali ini. Pemenang kategori Best Director dimenangkan oleh Steven Spielberg lewat The Fabelmans.
Steven Spielberg berhasil menumbangkan sejumlah sutradara yang merupakan pesaingnya di ajang ini. Yaitu James Cameron (Avatar: The Way of Water), Daniel Kwan dan Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Baz Luhrmann (Elvis), dan Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin).
